Retransforming Data and Mapper Replay
What is a Mapper Replay?
Mapper Replay is a process by which atomized source data is re-run through Reactor mapper service so that the current mapping configurations related to the data source are applied during transformation. Mapper replay allows Reactor users to re-map all source data collected and atomized by Reactor so that any mapping configuration changes applied since a source record was last mapped and landed in the destination.
Mapper replays can be initiated at the Source Mapping level of the Mapping page in Reactor. In the future, mapper replay initiation may be added to the Semantic Model and/or Destination Mapping level.
When to Execute a Mapper Replay
A Mapper Replay should be executed whenever a new mapping configuration is deployed so that the mappings deployed will be applied retroactively to data collected and mapped before the new configuration was deployed.
How to Execute a Mapper Replay
- In Reactor, navigate to the Mapping panel using the Mapping link on the left sidebar, then select the Source Mapping tab.
- Click on the source tile for the connector whose configuration you wish to edit in the left sidebar
- Use the Search dialog in the sidebar to filter to the source you are looking for.
- After selecting the source tile, the source mapping configuration for that source will load. Select the Run mapper replay button above the mapping configuration to begin a mapper replay (a popup will appear in your browser window asking you to confirm your selection; select OK to do so):
- PLEASE NOTE: It may take a few minutes for the Mapper Replay to begin. Future enhancements to this process will include notifications when a Mapper Replay begins and when a Mapper Replay is completed.
